I was enrolled in the Ph.D program at the University of Sydney, under the supervision of Paul Redding, from 1993-1997. The program included a year of coursework. After I submitted my Ph.D, I held the position of Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Sydney for the second half of 1997. I was then appointed as a Lecturer in Philosophy at the Australian National University from 1998-2000.
I have worked at Monash in a continuing appointment since 2001, holding the appointments of Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in Critical Theory, and then Director of the Centre for Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies 2009-2012.
Since 2013 I have been an Australian Research Council Future Fellow and Associate Professor in the Philosophy Department.
I am currently the Research Coordinator for the School of Philosophical, Historical and International Studies.
I am a founding board member of Oxford Bibliographies Online (Critical Theory) and the Aesthetics Editor for the journal Critical Horizons: A Journal of Philosophy and Social Theory.
