Dr Andrew Connor

I am an ancient historian and papyrologist, specializing in the Ptolemaic and Roman period in Egypt. My own research looks at the economic infrastructure of Egyptian religion in the Roman period, and the interactions between the Roman state, the Egyptian temples, and the surrounding landscapes–physical, economic, social, and political.  In addition, I am active in the publication of new documentary texts on papyrus from Ptolemaic and Roman Egypt.

After completing my Ph.D at the University of Cincinnati, I joined the Centre for Ancient Cultures in July, 2015.
