I received a Bachelor of Arts from La Trobe University with majors in English and Philosophy. I went on to gain first-class Honours in English (La Trobe 2002). I was awarded an Australian Postgraduate Award at The University of Newcastle, where I completed my PhD in Literary Studies in 2006.
From 2000 to 2004 I held a variety of programming roles with the This Is Not Art group of festivals, including managing the National Young Writers’ Festival and founding Critical Animals, a postgraduate conference.
From 2008 to 2016 I served on the Management Committee of the Sticky Institute, an artist run space in Melbourne’s CBD.
