Sutherland Trio

Sutherland Trio combines the wealth of experience belonging to three of Australia’s most distinguished musicians. Pianist Caroline Almonte, cellist Molly Kadarauch and violinist Elizabeth Sellars are international prize-winners who have played with chamber ensembles of the highest acclaim, including the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Academy of St Martin-in-the- Fields and Duo Sol.

Formed in 2011, Sutherland Trio gave their debut concert to critical acclaim at Melbourne Recital Centre where they have since curated four subscriptions series combining great classics of the chamber repertoire with exciting directions in composition worldwide. International and Australian premieres have included works by Caroline Almonte, Lera Auerbach, Britta Bystrom, Richard Danielpour, Paul Grabowsky, Stuart Greenbaum, Missy Mazzoli, Christine McCombe and Mary Finsterer. As a committed musical educator, Sutherland Trio has also presented a series of children’s chamber concerts in collaboration with Melbourne Recital Centre and Monash University. The Trio’s most recent appearances have been for Musica Viva’s Coffee Concert Series, ABC Classic FM, 3MBS, Elder Hall, Port Fairy Festival and Peninsula Summer Music Festival.
