Areas of Supervision

Fay is currently supervising five Ph.D. candidates and Honours students. She has supervised eleven PhD students to completion in a range of diverse fields, most notably in war reporting, Australian television, the media and the Vietnam War, humanitarian crises, political activism, disasters, genocide, gender, biography, memory, trauma, suicide reporting, activism, photography, Australian history and the Anzac legend. Most recently, Fay supervised Jeannine Baker who was awarded the Dennis Wettenhall Prize for her 2013 Ph.D. thesis, ‘Beyond the “woman’s angle”: Australian women war reporters during World War II’, and Nigel Dick on ‘the history of free to air television’: http://www.thecitizen.org.au/features/phd-87-former-media-boss-says-australia-got-tv-wrong
