Out of Babylon: The music of Baghdadi-Jewish Migrations into Asia and Beyond contains recordings of liturgical music of Baghdadi Jews in the Asian and Australian diaspora recorded by Hidris and Margaret Kartomi and released  by Celestial Harmonies in 2007.  With musicological commentary in English by Bronia Korrnhauser and Margaret Kartomi.  Out of Babylon was awarded the Annual Prize of the German Record Critics (red label) in the Ethnic Music category in 2008.

It contains recordings of tuned 9-drum and 5-drum ensembles and untuned 2-drum ensembles with cymbals, gongs and an oboe, with musicological commentary in English and German.

    The Angkola People of Sumatra is an LP of music recordings made by Margaret and Mas Kartomi in the Angkola area of the mountain ranges near the west coast of North Sumatra in the late 1970s. It contains recordings of  ritual instrumental ensemble , dance and vocal music, with musicological commentary in English and German. It was published by Baerenreiter Musicaphon of Kassel, Basel and London in 1979.
