Prior to his appointment at Monash in 2007, Mark held positions at Royal Free and University College Medical School, Imperial College, City University, London, and University of East London. Mark has held grants from the UK’s Economic and Social Research Council and the Australian Research Council’s Discovery Project (ARC DP) programme. He currently leads an international team from Sweden, Scotland and Australia researching the social aspects of antimicrobial resistance, supported by an ARC DP. He co-convenes a Faculty of Arts Focus Programme on Health and Biofutures, convenes the Sociology Programme at Monash University. Mark is Visiting Reader in the School of Health and Life Sciences, Glasgow Caledonian University, a member of the international advisory board of the Centre for Narrative Research, and Associate Editor for Medical Humanities.
