Mark completed his MA and PhD at the Institute of Education (now part of University College London) and worked at Royal Free and University College Medical School, Imperial College, City University, London, and University of East London. He came to Monash in 2007 to help establish social science research and teaching in health and now co-convenes a Faculty of Arts Focus Programme on Health and Biofutures.
Mark has held grants from the UK’s Economic and Social Research Council and the Australian Research Council’s Discovery Project (ARC DP) programme. He currently leads an international team from Sweden, Scotland and Australia researching the social aspects of antimicrobial resistance, supported by an ARC DP. Mark is a member of the advisory board of the Centre for Narrative Research.
