Monash Arts excels in The Australian top institutions research
Monash Arts has been well-represented in a recently released report by The Australian that details the top Australian researchers and research institutions. Monash Arts academics Professor Michael Selgelid (Bioethics) and Associative Professor Toby Handfield (Philosophy) received accolades for being the Field Leader in their respective fields.
Extension of Monash Bioethics Partnership with WHO
The Monash Bioethics Centre has officially been re-designated as a World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Bioethics for an additional four years.
The Centre was initially designated as a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Bioethics in July 2014, and the partnership will now continue until 2022.
Bioethics, infectious diseases and the battle between good and evil
In April this year, a police officer died from fever and internal bleeding in a small village in the Equateur Province of Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Eleven of his family members became ill after the funeral, and seven of them – the ones who had tended the body after his death – also died. Forty-two years after its first appearance, Ebola virus disease had again returned to Africa.
