Tenor saxophpnist Rob Burke, Head of Music and co-ordinator of Jazz and Popular studies at Monash University, has been performing in the Australian music scene for over thirty years. To celebrate his 50th birthday he has put together groups/musicians who have been important to him. Featured musicians include Tony Gould, guitarists Steve Magnusson and James Black, drummer Tony Floyd, bassists Nick Haywood and Steve Hadley. The styles of music will be diverse, with a focus on improvisation and original compositions, which has paralleled (thus far) the career of Burke.
