Stephen Legg’s research interests encompass selected areas of historical geography, environmental history and historiography. He is fascinated by the interpretation and portrayal of the relation between humans and nature and how and why those interpretations have changed over time.
Legg’s work covers inter-disciplinary areas of philosophical, theoretical and methodological enquiry in reconstructing the past. This includes critiques of both ‘conventional’ and ‘post-modern’ perspectives.
