Associate Professor Vicki Peel is Deputy Associate Dean Education in the Faculty of Arts with responsibility for postgraduate coursework. She is also co-Director of the Graduate Tourism Program in the School of Languages, Literatures, Cultures and Linguistics.
Vicki is privileged to play a role in educational leadership in the Faculty of Arts and to enable a vision of shared learning and community of practice among my peers. She sees educational leadership, which situates the student at the centre of pedagogy, as an essential feature of her role in development of graduate coursework programs for the Faculty.
Vicki’s scholarship is distinguished by a strong interdisciplinary and applied orientation. She collaborates with scholars from the fields of business, economics, marketing, anthropology and engineering in tourism research which has had significant impact on state public policy. Her research addresses tourism and work, tourism in developing economies, the spatial relationship and dynamic that underpins tourism at heritage places, and tourism and public transport.
